Does Physical Attraction Matter When Searching For Love

the importance of personal attractionSome claim that animal magnetism does exist, and is a core value of the law of attraction, this especially when sparks are concerned. There are actual rules which are activated when it comes to the mutual attraction of two people, this in a world of a billion strangers.

So the question remains, is there a set protocol when it comes to finding the perfect mate, a method of ignition, a guide to follow which allows two strangers to fall for each other. Does this attraction have a chemical reaction that’s somehow activated.

Some claim that there is, this according to social scientists, as it’s known that the attraction between the same species in the animal kingdom, the opposite sex is attracted to one another because of a chemical known as pheromones.

What No Chocolates?
The effect of pheromones when it comes to the behavior of insects, for instance, is the most apparent. It’s been observed based on experiments that pheromones is what’s responsible for all communication which exists among the same species, such as a colony of ants.

The distinct odor that’s released by certain animals which wards off their enemies, are also identified as a type of pheromone. There are some ape species which are known to rub pheromone on the feet of a potential mate, this to attract them.

Some experts claim that certain animals, usually the females of insects and mammals, will send out chemical signals to reveal to the male of their particular species, that their genetic makeup is different from theirs.

Wow You Smell Nice
As a result, the perfume industry has capitalized on the effects of pheromones for humans. This with the intention of increasing one’s sexual attractiveness towards the opposite sex. Animals such as musk deer and certain whale species are used to manufacture these odors.

What’s also been researched is if pheromones exists in humans, and if the does, the role it plays when it comes to mate selection. There are conflicting opinions however on its generics, the biology and its chemistry.

Some scientists will claim that pheromones don’t exist in humans, or if they do, they don’t play a significant role when it comes to sexual attraction. But there is new evidence which suggests that they rethink their stand.

One experiment involved women sniffing the shirts of different men, this during their ovulation period. It was found that women preferred the shirts which smelled genetically different, but also had similarities with the women’s own genes.

This, similar to insects and other mammals, was to ensure healthy characteristics when it came to their potential offspring. The researchers cautioned that the preferences for the odor may have been affected because of the women’s ovulation period.

Personality And Attraction
Odor does matter, but so does the perception, the aura of a potential mate’s personality at first glance. According to research based on interpersonal attraction, how a person projects themselves, struts their stuff, their self confidence, are extremely strong determinants of attraction.

What this tells us is that we prefer a certain type of personality when it comes to deciding how attracted we are to a particular person. What we do is project what the actual personality of the individual is, even by looking at a photograph, which can only be verified through meeting and having a conversation.

This interaction over time, it’s the perception that you hold of your partner which attracts you to that particular person, whether that person you’re attracted to has that type of personality that you’re looking for or not.

This accounts for what’s most commonly heard between a man and a woman when it comes to failed relationships, “You’re not who I thought you were, I thought you were someone different…”

Attraction And Relationships
What’s thought is that the first sight of attraction is a prelude, that it opens the door when it comes to a new relationship. This especially at the beginning, but then it’s found that just the physical attraction alone won’t make a relationship work.

It’s physical attraction that usually makes you take first notice of a person of the opposite sex, but once you get to know them better, attraction often becomes secondary, it becomes a compliment.

What matters more are shared values, similar dreams, and the mutual compatible passions which plays a significant role when it comes to long term relationships.

Should I Stop Being Attractive Then
More than attempting to look as physically attractive as possible, instead, why not work on every area of your mental, emotional, and spiritual makeup.

Physical attraction will always be a precursor. Biology dictates us to choose the partner who has the healthiest genes, so we’re initially attracted to the most prettiest or the most handsome first.

Once your emotions get involved and you’re attracted to someone, stop and ask yourself if you can hold up your end of the bargain. No one wants to be with someone who’s constantly insecure. So make it a point of knowing yourself, who you are, what your beliefs, values, and dreams are.

Never pretend to be someone who you’re not. Fooling someone else to think you share the same values as them, similar beliefs, will only cause disappointment, heartbreak, and splitsville.

If you’re healthy, how attractive you look becomes a secondary consequence. There are those who claims that security and confidence matters more that being just physically attractive.

So make sure that you keep up these high standards for yourself, and not in an attempt to impress or attract someone for the intention to deceive. This is how you can truly project how attractive you are as an individual.
