9 Causes Of Allergy Symptoms

Since spring and the warmer weather is lurking, what it activates are allergy symptoms from a variety of sources, for those who are prone. Allergies activate once the immune system reacts to a foreign substance. The same reaction won’t necessarily cause someone else to react.

The role of the immune system is to detect invading substances that doesn’t belong, such as bacteria and viruses, and attempts to rid of them.

For those who has allergies, what the immune system will mistakenly do, is identify everyday harmless elements such as peanuts or pollen, and consider them dangerous, and produces a chemical reaction to fight it.

9. Allergy To Certain Medication

What some may develop is an allergic reaction to the medication they’re taking. This will happen once the immune system, which is designated to fight infection and disease, has a bad reaction to the drug. A reaction can cause mild to at times life-threatening symptoms, such as rashes, hives, itchy eyes, swelling or congestion in the mouth and throat.

Certain drugs can cause more of an allergic reaction than others. The most severe includes aspirin, antibiotics such as penicillin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen, and chemotherapy drugs. It becomes vital to tell your doctor, you’ve had an allergic reaction to a certain drug in the past.

8. Fragrance Allergies

Fragrances found in products such as perfumes, scented candles, cosmetics, or laundry detergent, can trigger an allergic reaction in some people. The reason for this is because the fragrances are usually synthetic chemicals, which activates the reaction. Most aren’t considered allergens, but more irritants, which causes the allergy like symptoms.

A reaction to a fragrance causes the usual allergy symptoms. Often, the symptoms will ease once the airborne odor of the scent goes out of range. So the best prevention is avoiding these situations, or holding your breath once exposed, to avoid inhaling.

7. Latex Allergy

The latex that’s found in gloves, or certain medical devices can do is trigger an allergic reaction in some. Those suffering from a latex allergy, the immune considers it as a harmful substance, and as a result releases certain antibodies to fight it off. Those who are prone, can suffer an allergic reaction by just touching products that contain latex, such as gloves or balloons.

Symptoms of a latex allergy causes a reaction such as itchy red skin, rashes, hives, sneezing and a runny nose, sore throat, watery eyes, difficulty breathing, wheezing along with coughing. Symptoms can usually appear within minutes.
