When you’re preparing yourself for positive change, make sure you keep track of how you self-talk to yourself. Never talk down to yourself, such as, “Well, I am going to blow it again.” Thoughts and attitudes are where change begins. What thoughts have is the power to control your destiny.
Understand your thoughts control your emotions, and your emotions control your actions. What you concentrate on the most, is what happens.
If your thoughts happen to focus on failure, then that’s the self-fulfilling prophecy you’ll get.
So decide to consciously change your thoughts, change your focus, then you’ll change your future and your life.
Fortify yourself so you’re immersed in an environment, where success can grow from success.
Often, we think all this “change your attitude” stuff is great, and things will turn at the snap of your fingers.
What it takes however is a lot of effort to muster the mental and emotional fortitude that’s needed, especially if there’s no support.
To Dig Deep
If you’re having difficulty finding the inspiration to change yourself, then surround yourself with others, along with the things that will give you the motivation you need.
Keep in mind progress comes in spurts. There’s no sense in waiting for everything to be just right, because that’s never going to happen.
Fate isn’t going to just suddenly catapult you to the top of the pecking order, without suffering some scrapes and bruises.
Often, it’s taking two steps forward and one step back.
There will be times, you’ll feel you’re not making any forward progress, then you suddenly leap forward.
Change Is Internal
Although change and alteration appears to have similar meaning, they’re not synonymous. Change is driven from within, and governed by the right intentions.
Alteration is based on external factors, what others think, what impresses people, things which allows you to keep up and appease them.
The trouble is, doing so can cause insecurity which breeds from low self-esteem.
When you’re feeling low and down on yourself, you won’t feel invigorated and wanting to tackle your weaknesses, as a downward spiral continues.
The Want To Change
Never look to others for approval. Once you do, your happiness and success then hinges on their whims, their opinions. This reliance only leads to a frail emotional existence.
Stop worrying about keeping the people in your life happy. They really don’t care about you, but only about themselves.
You need to concentrate on making yourself happy instead. On the surface, most are open to change, but internally, there’s strong resistance.
When you don’t make the changes you know are necessary, you feel weak and depressed.
Once making positive change, you feel you’re in control. Any type of change feels uneasy, so it’s how you perceive and manage that change.
Ways How People Change
Some transitions are more powerful than others, when it comes to making conscious everlasting positive change. What drastic circumstances requires, are drastic measures.
You could suddenly suffer poor health and end up on a hospital bed, lose your job, or experience other types of personal tragedy.
If you didn’t feel compelled to change your situation in the past, then such events will force you to do so immediately.
How most make change in their life however, is slowly and deliberately, when they have the time or feel like it.
Gradual changes like this are more likely to evolve, through personal relationships or other long-term molding influences.
Then there’s internal change. This can be compelled by both positive and negative factors, where you wilfully hit the pause button, to make a conscious transformational decision.
Making Change Permanent
You need to be firmly committed to the change and have reached the point where in your mind, there’s no other option.
What you need is to be willing to pay the price for the rewards of the change, and persist even when there are setbacks and doubt.
You need to know where the change is taking you. How is this life transformation going to affect your life? What will the end results be?
One way to alleviate the fear of the unknown, is by doing your due diligence, so you know exactly what to expect.
Carefully plan your steps, do your research especially if you’ve never been there before.
To Stay On Course
When those who are closest to you appears to be the most discouraging, remember they’ve only seen how you were in the past.
They have no experience with the person you’re about to become.
Fair or not, it’s only human nature we are judged, and how we judge others, based on past experiences rather than projections of future potential.
Some may take these sentiments as non-supportive, which can be extremely crushing to their confidence, when going forward.
Always Remain Mindful
What this doesn’t mean, is you should stop pursuing loving relationships with those around you. You also don’t need to constantly be placing everything on the line, for them to scrutinize.
Why make yourself vulnerable, to those you know aren’t going to cheer you on. It’s just a case of being careful, and wise about who you open up to.
On the other hand, some may find these naysayers motivates them. Whatever works for you, go for it.
Just make sure you keep the positive energy flowing. Develop the attitude of who cares what anyone thinks.
Then Make It A Habit
Many claim establishing a habit takes 21 days, for it to become a habit. What’s recommended, is not using this as a benchmark, that after 21 days you’ll be home free.
If you are able to persist in doing something for 21 days however, then you’re on the right path to achieving success.
These wins are important, because what they give you is a sense of what accomplishment feels like.
Know after experiencing months of consistent commitment, life and things around you can still crumble.
The key becomes constantly reinforcing your new habits, while holding yourself accountable. This way, you won’t revert back to your old ways.
