The majority of the population such as you and I, are average or slightly below average on the grid, when it comes to human achievement. We like to swim with the tide, conform, obey and do and say what others do. We behave like sheep. We enjoy being as normal as possible, so we won’t look out of place.
As a result, most of us are boring, predictable and redundant. We fit into a box of crayons and remain there for life.
But if you want to improve, get better, move ahead and above the crowd, become the top percentile of performers. Know that doing so is possible.
So choose, decide to get better, as the bulk of the population fails to fulfill their potential.
To be average is known as our comfort zone. It’s we existing in the proverbial “inside the box” and liking it.
This is not intended as a slight, or an insult to the masses, but being average means you’re a dull knife.
Also realize any statistic can be skewed, as there are certain variables which alters the medium, making the results misleading.
The Hunger To Rise Above The Crowd
So if you’re wanting to get better, it’s easier than you think it might be. To improve your overall performance, and begin to station yourself above the masses.
It comes down to determination, as all it takes is adding just a small percentile of effort in everything you do.
Why is it then, there are just a few who accomplish their dreams, if this success thing is so easy.
The reason being, because most will get discouraged and quit after a small setback, and then choose to give up trying, rather than moving forward.
There are a few proven steps you can take, to rise above the ordinary, above the crowd. To get better, to jump from being substandard, to becoming an amazing human and excel past your peers.
Always Be Thinking Ahead
It’s pretty obvious the greatest of leaders among us, views the future differently. These same principles can apply to anyone who wants to improve themselves in any field.
You’ll increase the odds of succeeding once you begin with a goal, have an end game in mind.
The most prolific individuals when asked, will give the advice you should map out what you want to do, such as your career path or business dream.
One way is finding a mentor, find out what they do and emulate them. Follow their path, by tracing their steps backwards.
Always Place Others First
Although there are some, who are extremely arrogant and selfish who has achieved amazing results, empathy is always morally recommended as a trait to inherit.
Whenever we envision the future, specifically how we want others to react and judge us, you need to decide on the best path to get there.
When dealing with others, you want people to like you. You want people to buy from you in good faith. You’re wanting others to tell their friends about you.
Become As Competent As Possible
Being proficient at something becomes important. You don’t need to be the premier expert in your field, but what you need is the expertise to know enough of what it is you’re representing.
So if your field of choice is eCommerce marketing for instance, you need to learn the basics and have proof of concept.
Don’t just go around proclaiming you’re a Facebook marketing expert. Instead, begin by taking action and then allow your results to do all the talking.
Set Your Own Goals
What the majority of those who remain average fail to do, is establish their end goals on whatever it is they’re chasing.
Without setting goals, what most end up doing is fulfilling the dreams of someone else instead.
They chase a career that others have chosen for them, or follow the life path that someone has defined for them.
Then they find it difficult to succeed, or are unsatisfied once they reach their quest, and then can’t figure out why.
Always Treat Everyone With Respect
It’s always important to treat others, everyone, friend or foe with respect at all times. This includes from their basic rights to the extreme.
What you need is the support from everyone, to become successful. You can’t expect anyone to help you out, if you treat them badly. So always be nice.
It also becomes difficult to treat others with respect, if you don’t respect yourself first.
Always be setting the tone on how you expect others to treat you, which is with respect as well.
Be Honest Always Show Transparency
What you’re not expected to do is reveal all of your secrets. Always remain honest however, by showing transparency at all times, especially when you’re asked.
Once you hold back information others could find useful so they could make a better decision, you do so because of fear.
We fear they’ll excel past us, or achieve more success with the information we provide them. This only makes them become disappointed in us, and not trust us.
So transcend beyond your fears by disclosing everything you know within reason. Place the onus on them to take action.
What you risk becomes secondary compared to the potential gains you’ll get back in regaining their trust, along with other benefits.
Always Leverage Technology Properly
We now live in an era of technology, that’s unprecedented. As a result, what those in the know does is takes advantage of it.
They jump ahead of their competition, this simply by knowing and applying this new technology in their favor before others do.
It doesn’t need to be groundbreaking. You could be the first in your industry, for instance, to use mobile marketing to draw in more customers and sales to your service.
You could be the first person in your company to use Facebook advertising, this to precisely pinpoint and attract targeted customers, this more cheaper and more effectively.
This will help you become a superstar performer and become extraordinary, and step forward and away from the competition.
