What’s found however in the universal refection of life, being materialistic has no substance, that you’ll get no tangible experiences in life. But what the media promotes, pressures us to think is that material possessions are better, this in whatever they’re trying to market.

We all need certain materialistic things however, such as shelter and transportation. This doesn’t mean that you should be investing all your hard earned money, this into tangibles which are going to be considered as memorabilia of a life well lived.

What investing in experiences does is it makes you wise and educated beyond belief, that you’ll have endless adventures to tell, this when reliving your life story, and you’ll never be boring.

“Things” Never Last Forever
That fancy new “whatever” that you’ve just purchased is trendy, but isn’t going to last your entire life. They’ll quickly lose their appeal, crap out on you, or lose their functionality.

However, if you invest in traveling or biking across the country, you’ll find that it’s a lot more sustainable and rewarding. You’ll have adventure which can help you find yourself, while having a variety of memoirs to tell.

“Things” Don’t Define Passion
Rather than buying that latest fashion statement or that new smartphone, instead, buy things that you’re extremely passionate about. For instance, you love to paint, so buy canvas and brushes.

If you’re passionate about biking, hiking, or rock climbing, buy a bike or rock climbing gear. Always remember that you can spend your money on things which betters you as a person, usually sparking new inspiration that you didn’t know you had.

“Things” Don’t Have Perspective
It’s a singular one track mind that constantly purchases random things that you don’t need, collecting dust in the closet, thinking they’ll make you happy.

But if you invest in traveling instead, what the entire world offers are a variety of different ways of thinking. Traveling is one of the most rewarding gifts that anyone can experience.

The different cultures of the world collide, as its diversity alone, should generate enough motivation for you to purchase a plane ticket instead buying a new car.

“Things” Can’t Teach You Anything
What stories have you heard, the experiences or the life lessons that’s been learned from buying those pair of designer jeans. No, nothing.

Those who invest their minds in adventure will tell you of the countless things that they’ve learned from the various places that they’ve been to. Experiencing new places is the best education one can reward oneself with.

“Things” Can’t Express Gratitude
What the majority of people has is a materialistic mindset, which doesn’t exactly teach them to show gratitude for all of the things that they own.

What those around the world have and practice are various ways of expressing their gratitude, this towards the earth, universe, for living the life that they do.

It’s infinitely better to be grateful for ones life experiences, this than being grateful for ones new house.

Most “Things” Aren’t That Great
Those who choose to invest in experiences rather than material objects, have more meaningful memories along with stories that they’ll cherish once they grow older.

They find inspiration while appreciating living everyday, this because of they wanting to push their boundaries, while challenging themselves to do more than yesterday.

What owning materialistic things that you no longer need or want, are just dead weight, useless, and eventually you just end up throwing away.

Most “Things” Don’t Hold Their Value
What being materialistic won’t guarantee you, is a lifetime of memories leading to happiness and contentment.

Once you reach your senior years, would you rather reflect back on a suitcase full of life experiences, or a suitcase full of shoes.

Happiness is generated from within, and is contributed from living a full life. If you decide to fill that void with materialistic things, then you’ll eventually become doomed to disliking yourself and everything around you.

To Live A Fulfilling Life
What materialistic objects does is they cloud your mind and judgement, giving you the ideal that greed and hoarding is good. It’s proven that greed gets you nowhere in life. So maximize your life by spending it on adventure.

The one thing that the aging regrets is not having more experiences in their lives. Pushing their limits instead of pushing a pencil for the majority of their adult existence.

They would of rather had more adventure, as the only thing that old age mirrors is the life you had, and the experiences which fills it.

So fill those empty hopes with substance, the very dreams that you’ve outlined as a child, this to experience and maximize your happiness.
